Cassandra A. Berrocal, President


Cassandra A. Berrocal, is the President of Local 3 United Storeworkers, of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, a District Council of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union and Director of the Storeworkers Security Plan Health Benefits Fund.

Sister Berrocal was born and raised in New York City. where she attended Parochial Schools and Public High School. She is a Graduate of Empire State College Harry Van Arsdale Jr. School of Labor Studies, State University of New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Labor Management Relations. She is also a Graduate of Cornell University New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations Certificate Program and has completed course studies at the George Meany Center for Labor Studies Certificate Program in Occupational Safety & Health Act Standards.

Ms. Berrocal is a Vice-President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union and an Advisory Board Member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union.

Sister Berrocal is the President of the Hispanic Labor Committee, an Advisory Committee of the New York City Central Labor Council and is a, Delegate of the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, CLC. She represents the RWDSU and the UFCW on the National Executive Board of the Coalition of Labor Union Women and serves on the Executive Committee of the New York Branch N.A.A.C.P. She is an Executive Committee Member, serving as Diversity Co-Chair of the UFCW Women's Network, is an Executive Board Member of the UFCW Minority Coalition and serves as a Vice-President of the UFCW United Latinos.

She has worked as a Counselor for the Cornell University Trade Union Women's Studies Program. She was the Keynote Speaker, celebrating Women's History Month at Lehman College, City University of New York and has partnered with the Consortium for Worker Education in the development of courses for members of RWDSU Local 3.

Sister Berrocal served as a Delegate to the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

Berrocal is a member of the National and New York Branch N.A.A.C.P., Coalition of Labor Union Women, Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Hispanic Labor Committee, Jewish Labor Committee, A. Philip Randolph Institute and the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, an arm of the AFL-CIO.
